Adam's back. This is one of the most fun episodes we've done recently. Episode 119 - Bating For Gadot

We open with a struggle session and own Felix for being too much of an actual dirtbag. The rest of the episode is our positive review of DC Comics' Wonder Woman, why neoconservatives love it, why Lebanon really banned it, and the missed opportunity of making it in the image of the original super horned-up creator. Amber named this episode.

The Inebriated Past: Sewer Surfin'

It's another edition of our completely original concept, The Inebriated Past, where Matt gets hammered and discusses left wing history.

This week, we meet the so-called "Sewer Socialists" of Milwaukee in the early 1900s, their common sense radicalism, the contradictions that tore them apart, and what it means for an ascendent left after Jezza's big upset.

Episode 118 - From Russia With CHUD feat. Sarah Jones

The New Republic's Sarah Jones joins us to talk about The Resistance and how we're in it, and actually lead it, so if you don't like us you're not part of it.

Our buddy Alex Nichols joins us again to do our official Chapo survey and taxonomy of conservative media, from the ghouls of the Weekly Standard to the chuds of the Daily Caller. We also talk about the new cancelled Tim Allen show for about 15 minutes, I think I cut some of that but not all of it. I eat a lot of almonds in this one.

Episode 113 - Hit and Run feat. R.L. Stephens

UPDATE: We made it free because you all said to.

R.L. Stephens with us talking about his recent brush with danger, his critique of Ta-Nehisi Coates, the limits of liberal anti-racism, pessimism, organizing, and why materialism matters.

Episode 110 - The Rocktober Revolution feat. China Miéville

We attempt to summon the magic reality-bending force of the show to cause Trump to get impeached and get off by testifying against Jared.

It's a jam-packed sode with special Chapo health correspondent Tim Faust returning to brief us on the dystopian Republican healthcare bill that passed in the House. Then we hop on the line with writer Miya Tokumitsu to talk about the tyranny of work over your life, and a future without it.

We wrap things up with a reading series with Chapo all-star David French.

Here's Miya's article in the New Republic: newrepublic.com/article/141663/united-states-work

Rob Delaney stops by to talk healthcare, Bill O'Reilly, sniveling Democrats, and Gorilla Mindset. Then Matt tells us about the Juicero and Felix and Brendan reveal a new single by P.J. Dade, "U Give Me 3nergy."

Message from P.J. Dade below:

I am an evangelical Christian, the owner of a secondhand boat store, and yes, that was me in the news report about “bathroom encounters.”

I sell rudders and motorboards during the day, but I have passions outside of work. Obviously, God is number one. But passion number two is my awesome wife Klyeelissa and my kick butt little guy Mason Jesse James Treibart (the best 4 year old in the world ;) ), Passion the third is, you guessed it, Evangelical EDM.

Yes, Evangelical EDM is the thirteenth largest growing music genre in the entire world, but I'm not in it for money. My entire life, I've been searching for a way to tell people how my soul felt. I tried to find it in the bottle, in the pipe, and yup, through the bathroom stall. But every time I thought I was breaking through, I was just putting barriers between my spirit and the world. With Evangelical EDM, I know that I'm finally speaking the true voice God gave me.

So I decided to send the boys in "The Trap" my newest song, "You Give Me Energy." I could try explaining my life, my journey, my triumphs, and my pain to get these guys to understand who they're mocking when they mock evangelicals, but they wouldn't understand it. the universal language of music is how neighbors can see eye to eye, though. It's been like that since the Book of Genesis, and it's like that now.

So without further ado, I hope you can begin to start to think about considering who I really am, and who you could be.

Blessing throughout you, your family, and the world.

"You Give Me Energy" lyrics

This song is dedicated
To a group of people I fail every day
But they're special enough to forgive me
I'm talking about my family and the Lord Jesus Christ
Let's go

Every day is just another chance
You can do evil as long as you come right back
Forgiveness is how the angels dance
It doesn't matter if you were born here or in Iraq

You are the best of me
You give me Energy
Once I was lost at sea
You give me energy

He's in our hearts before the coffee's in our cups
God is our breath every time we hiccup
He is the fistul of uppers when we crash
He will pump your stomach if you swallow sin for cash

You are the best of me
You give me energy
You wipe the sweat from me
You give me energy

Slouched in a stall, my luck's run out
I refuse to die, refuse to doubt
He is with me all around
I pick myself up off the ground
‘Cause even if you relapse in the hole
Your Wife understands it’s one step towards your goal

You are the best of me
You give me energy
The Holy Ghost nests in me
You give me energy

I'm sorry for everything that I have done
That I will do, and haven’t done
And you're welcome for our son

Episode 101 - Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc

Haec credam a deo pio? A deo iusto? A deo scito?

Episode 98 - Gorka II: The Gorkaning feat. Alex Pareene & James Adomian

The international supervillain Sebastian Gorka (James Adomian) calls into the show again, recently hampered by a conspiracy exposing him as a member of the Hungarian fascist Vitézi Rend. Will it stop his plans to push out all other top Trump advisers and achieve global domination?

Then we talk to Alex Pareene about Trump's Syria strikes, the media’s massive, pathetic war chubby, and his piece this week about the rightwing grift that has overtaken its creators and unraveled reality.

The show receives another celebrity call as a prominent broadcaster sets the record straight about the globalist demon media.

The lads then discuss Mike Pence’s Rules For Dating Mother, the sad sacks at the DNC, why American health care sucks (more on that next week) and a magical reading series from National Review’s Jay Nerdlinger about his field trip to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. He did not like it.

Special thanks to Tim Heidecker

Here’s the Museum Nerdlinger: www.nationalreview.com/article/44533…erican-museum

Episode 95 - Hillbilly Smellegy feat. Matt Sitman

Commonweal editor Matt Sitman joins us to take apart everyone’s favorite new pathological study of the American yokel, “Hillbilly Elegy” by J.D. Vance. We discover that Vance, who has ditched his beloved hillbilly roots to become a venture capital Silicon Valley vampire, is an Ohio version of Raylan Givens. Here is Matt’s personal essay in Dissent on abandoning the conservatism he learned in his blue collar upbringing: https://www.dissentmagazine.org/article/leaving-conservatism-behind-blue-collar-republican-progressive

Episode 94 - The Brian Johnstown Massacre feat. Jacob Bacharach

In our last show of the Pittsburgh Era, we reunite with Jacob Bacharach (@jakebackpack) to talk Scott Adams, hypnosis, the time he met Glenn Beck, and whether Dilbert has fucked.

Then we discuss PA's long history of manmade disasters and conclude with an anti-reading series from Jacob's new novel, "The Doorposts of Your House and on Your Gates."

Buy it here: www.amazon.com/Doorposts-Your-Ho…f=asap_bc?ie=UTF8

Episode 93 - Madness? THIS IS CHAPO

Still in Pittsburgh. We talk about what we think is a founding cultural document of the contemporary alt-right, Zack Snyder’s first truly shitty and racist movie, 300. Basically, the Persians are the good guys, the Spartans are the Taliban – except more child-fucking – and the deformed traitor guy is Matt Forney.

Episode 92 - No. 1 In Heaven

For our special One Year Chapoversary, we take a look back on some of the most memorable moments on the show and reveal some never-before-heard clips like when Virgil committed a crime on tape and an extended cut of a "lost interview."

Episode 91 - The Lasange Code feat. @Leyawn

Episode 90 - Gorka's Revenge feat. Sebastian Gorka

Dr. Sebastian Gorka calls in to complain about last week's show. We talk about a shitty article in the New Republic featuring the lib thought experiment of seceding from Red America, an even worse book by AEI's Arthur Brooks.

We sign off with a sequel to our Pre-Taped Call-In Show where we answer questions on air. If you wanted to ask a question, you should've called last week when we recorded the episode.

Special thanks to James Adomian

Episode 89 - Napoleonic Rules For Success In Business feat. Trillburne

History time: Everett a.k.a. @Trillburne joins us to talk about Ridley Scott's film "The Duellists" and the life of Napoleon, the greatest real estate flipper/e-book entrepenuer of his time. Felix interupts a lot to talk about his dick and why he didn't like the movie.

Episode 88 - Sebastian Goku feat. Derek Davison

We talk to all-time Chapo guest returning champ Derek Davison (@dwdavison9318) about Dr. Sebastian Gorka, one of the many pygmy Strangeloves of the Trump foreign policy crew. Derek also takes us on a tour of the mideast and what to watch in Turkey's referendum, Iran's elections, and Syria's ongoing shitshow. Felix starts eating near the end

Episode 87 - The Basketball Snob

Episode art by @casesimmons

Episode 86 - Fash The Patriarchy feat. Angela Nagle

We talk with writer Angela Nagle about her work studying the alt-right, its different stripes, divisions, and contradictions. Far before Milo fell from grace, Angela predicted that the alt-right would splinter and cannibalize sooner rather than later.

Here's Angela's article: www.jacobinmag.com/2017/02/paleocons-for-porn/

Episode 85 - The Appropriators feat. Shuja Haider

Viewpoint magazine’s Shuja Haider joins us to talk about his recent appearance with Amber on a YDS panel, cultural appropriation, the alt-right, and Rich Chigga.

Episode 84 - President Wario

The dry boys are back, recording from Felix's new dirty disgusting apartment. We talk about Mike Flynn's resignation, some dumb Trump shit, and WaPo's moronic article about coughing that lound blount.

Then Matt reviews the new show "ABP," a program about how great it would be if Peter Thiel took over a police precinct. We close with a reading series from a particularly soft Trump supporter, professional scold Mark Bauerlein.

Episode 83 - Boston Skrong

It's another movie ep: We talk about Mark Mark and Peter Berg's new terrorism film "Patriots Day" and also the super bowl. It was fun but by the end of the episode the guys keep saying naughty things that got cut out so we made it a premium episode.

Episode 82 - War Is Heck feat. @PissPigGranddad

Update: This episode went offline for a little while last night after Brace got in contact with concerns about his security. We wanted to play things safe and took it down, but now it's back up.

A conversation with @PissPigGranddad.

Episode 81 - The Devil In Mother Jones feat. Shane Bauer

2017 Magazine of the Year Award-winning journalist Shane Bauer (@Shane_Bauer) joins us to talk about the protests in Berkeley, his work embedding with rightwing militias, and his time spent as a prisoner in Iran. We took the award from him and now we are award-winners.

Here are some of Shane's articles we discuss:

Episode 80 - Kolob Trap House feat. Adam Friedland

Adam Friedland from the award-winning podcast Cum Town joins us. We talk about his South African dad, his young days as a horny pro-Israel teen, the night Trump won, Mormonism, the Instagram sensation known as Popcorn, lots of other shit.

Episode 79 - Our Values Are Under Attack feat. Tim Heidecker

The genius Tim Heidecker is on the show, we talk about Alex Jones selling out, comedy in the age of Trump, and President Hamburgler wandering around the White House in the dark with old cartoon-style pajamas and a candle. We conclude with a new entry of "True Allegiance," with a special reading from Tim as Brett Hawthorne.

Felix Solo - Mixed Martial Law feat. Karim Zidan

Felix goes solo again to talk to Karim Zidan (@ZidanSports), one of the best reporters covering sports and politics. They talk about yellow journalism, Chechen strongman Ramzan Kadyrov, and the way nasty regimes infect sports like MMA. Here are the three articles by Karim mentioned in the 'sode:

Episode 78 - Terminal

UNLOCKED: The first of two premium offerings this week -- this one is a discussion with Amber about the late Mark Fisher and his work. We also talk about the outbreak of protests this week, which we'll probably release as free so people don't think we're living in a large Chapo estate on a far away island (we are). Here is the text of Capitalist Realism: https://libcom.org/files/Capitalist%20Realism_%20Is%20There%20No%20Alternat%20-%20Mark%20Fisher.pdf

Episode 77 - No Country For Gorilla Men feat. Matt Taibbi

Our old pal and first mega-guest Matt Taibbi returns to the trap to talk about Week Zero of Trump's reign, his new book about the past year of campaigning, and causes for hope now that the liberal dream is over.

Episode 76 - Tabletop Game Theory Pt. II

It's time to play the game. Time to play the game. [Laughter] It's all about the game, and how you play it. All about control, and if you can take it. All about your debt, and if you can pay it. It's all about pain, and who's gonna make it.

Episode 75 - Mr. Chapo Goes To Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The full trap in effect, plus special guest Sam Kriss (@sam_kriss), all of us covering the inauguration of President Wario.

Weak chinned neo-Nazi Richard Spencer got his head caved in, protesters burned a limo, Colby became an anarchist, irony was shot through the head, and the gang went to Red Lobster for a lovely meal.

Episode 74 - Tabletop Game Theory Pt. I

This is the first of a two-part radio play/tabletop game run by Virgil, who locked us in a room to play Call of Cthulhu. Turning the clock back to the 1920s, the guys act out a Lovecraftian cosmic horror-noir.

Will plays a disturbed, incestuous race scientist, Felix a military valor-stealer turned jazz vocalist, and Matt a medically trained decrepit foot fetishist. They receive an odd message from a grotesque, half-man, half-baseball that leads them to uncover dark secrets in the heart of our young nation’s capital…

Episode 73 - Better Call Saul Alinsky feat. Bill Corbett

Mystery Science Theater 3000’s Bill Corbett stops by the mansion to join us in pummeling the life out of conservative entrepreneur and filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza's stupid and bizarre documentary "Hillary's America." The movie is obviously racist and creepy and hilarious and the only accurate costumes were KKK robes.

It was an honor to do a show with Bill and he is now our FailDad.

Episode 72 - Pre Taped Call-In Show

This was actually a pretty fun episode considering that we recorded it frantically after a very good interview was incinerated by this week's parade of techincal snafus.

We discuss the Trump pee-pee tapes, Steve Harvey, Jon Chait, and the inauguration. We then take live questions from listeners, taped at the time of the recording. If you wanted to ask your question, you should've asked earlier when we were taping the show.

Episode 71 - Crapo Cat House: The Half-Lost Episode feat. Alex Nichols

Brendan’s computer crashed so we lost half of our first recording for this episode, but all the good parts were mostly salvaged, as well as a bad part where Amber’s cat takes a wicked shit that smelled horrible and we whine about having to deal with it.

The second half was recorded the next day and it’s our second official reading of Ben Shapiro’s catshit novel “True Allegiance.” Ultimately everything turned out alright.

Here's Alex's piece on Kurt: theoutline.com/post/749/the-agon…f-kurt-eichenwald

Brock Winthrop: brockwinthrop.bandcamp.com/

Episode 70 - Real Strain Hours feat. Libby Watson

Libby Watson is on the show to talk about the Ethics Committee SNAFU, the new Democratic war room full of failures, and Michael Tomasky’s favorite voter demographic, bathroom warrior moms.

We then clock in a funny Reading Series by some American Enterprise nerd who demands everyone call him “Mister.” Yeah, Mister Jerk.

UPDATE: Here is the David Kaib piece Matt mentioned: https://notesonatheory.wordpress.com/2016/11/29/the-most-basic-fact-about-politics-is-slack/

Episode 69 - Angela & Strawberry feat. James Adomian

We're all hungover from ringing in Year Zero and rusty from vacation but returning guest James Adomian (@JAdomian) stops by to put us off on the right foot. We talk about our callout on the Michael Rapaport podcast, Dan Nainan's Tesla show, Mike Cernovich's new brain crystal products, and Josh Marshall accidentally tweeting lesbian porno while trying to advocate a new Cold War.

Buy James's new Trump vs. Bernie album: trumpvsbernie.com/

Episode 68 - Applebee's Christmas Spectacular feat. Kath Barbadoro

In this magical Christmas episode Kath Barbadoro joins us again to talk about the Lynchian underbelly of New Hampshire, political economy, the embarrassing turn at Mother Jones, and the really just fantastic and affordable meals on offer at our favorite neighborhood bar & grill, Applebee’s.

We finish off the year with a scintillating reading from Ben Shapiro’s racist and poorly-written novel, “True Allegiance.”

The Inebriated Past with Matt Christman

In this special solo episode, Matt gets soused and tells the tale of August Willich, the German communist who moved to America and commanded the fighting’ 32nd regiment as a general in the Union Army in the Civil War.

Episode 67 - The Swordfish Episode

Nick got a new huge TV and we were all hungover so we leave Swordfish (2001) on during the recording. We talk about Battlefield Earth, the inane Eric Garland tweetstorm, and the DSA.

In the middle of the episode, Nick makes another cameo by hovering behind Will and eating a massive carrot and it makes Brendan laugh.

We're sorry that this is not as profound as the Adam Curtis episode.

Then the full Chapo team assembles to tackle the book "The Up Side of Down: Why Failing Well Is the Key to Success" by Bloomberg View blogger and chronically wrong person Megan McArdle. It's a horrible dumb book and everyone gets mad at Will for making them read it.

So slap some bacon on a biscuit and let's go, we're burnin' radioactive fumes.

It's a Troopcast. In this snipeasode, bona fide Troop Adrian Bonenberger joins us to discuss his travels in Ukraine, chatting with Nazis, his background in the military, and what really goes in ranger camp. And we initiate his upcoming podcast into the Trap cartel.

One last thought, and we would urge you to consider this: Mr. Obama, the president, wants to nail a young man's toy clock onto the pedastool of the White House, instead of a shoe from a troop's widow. We hope at some point in time perhaps the Mr. President should give this some thought.
